Big Bang
The argument is often made that the universe and everything in it must have been created by something from outside our natural world because “something” could not have come from “nothing” without supernatural intervention. This would obviously be true if there was ever “nothing” in our universe but in the universe that we know there was never “nothing,” there was always energy. Any “something” occupies space and sometimes moves from one location to another; “nothing” does neither. The total amount of energy in our universe remains the same. According to the law of conservation of energy, energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only change form. Since we can see and measure many different forms of energy today, we can logically conclude that it must have always existed.
