…Not!
Maybe we will soon have the answer to the age-old question: what came first, the chicken or the egg? Scientists think they now have DNA proof that chickens and all other birds evolved from dinosaurs.
In an article published in Journal Science, researchers report that molecular analysis of the collagen (soft tissue) extracted from the fossilized bones of T.Rex, unearthed in Montana and Wyoming in 2003, confirm that chickens descended from dinosaurs.
The problem for most of us laymen, at least for me, is that on the evolutionary journey from a dinosaur to a chicken biologists must decide, and then tell us, at what point was it a chicken? If it was a chicken in the final evolutionary embryonic stage then obviously the answer to the Big Question is the egg came before the chicken, but if biologists decide it was only a chicken after the egg hatched, the answer is the chicken came before the egg. It would seem that with all the newfound evidence biologists would get together and decide—when was it a chicken?
